The 12th Annual Back to School Bash is a yearly outreach event of Our Youth Matter, Inc. It’s held outdoors the 3rd Saturday of August where backpacks filled with age-appropriate school supplies are given to preschool to high school students on a first come, first serve bases. This year our theme is #LevelUpandGrow. We are seeking vendors and organizations that will help the youth get to another level. The day will offer games, food, vision boards, watermelon table, crafts, entertainment, and more. STUDENT MUST BE PRESENT.
The event will be back at Rainbow Recreation Center 5800 International Blvd. Oakland, CA 94621 our goal is to give out 500 backpacks, 500 hygiene kits and 500 books, with lots of additional other perks.
Since 2008, Our Youth Matter has given out over 3500 backpacks to under-represented youth. Our goal is to PROVIDE YOUTH WITH TOOLS FOR SCHOOL to help them start the school year right. The mission of OYM is to create and enhance resources for youth through educational preparation, leadership development, and community involvement.
