I’m Saved, Now What
Will address some of the “now what happens” after salvation questions. If we do not have any other answer for them than “pray about it” we risk losing them back into the world. We will explore some of the benefits of being a Christian and how that with God they can have a fulfilling life and do many of the same things that other people do. (workshop selected for www.bassconvention.org)
The youth are always talking about or wanting to have a boyfriend or girlfriend so we will talk about Christian Dating. We will find out their definition of dating or courting and give biblical reference on what the word of God says. We will identify great biblical relationships as well as those we can learn from. The teens will share positive or negative relationships they see either in their family, among their friends or t.v. and we will discuss. Handouts, prizes and gifts will be given out. Coming July 20, 2013
The Youth will learn ways to speak positive affirmations in their life and how speaking negatively has severe effects on them. They will leave knowing they matter.
These Are My Confessions
Our youth is having a problem with living right. Some keep sinning and think as long as they ask for forgiveness before they die they will be ok. However, they do not realize they may not get the chance to repent or confess. We will explain what the difference is between repenting for our sins and confessing.
I Can Do What I want
The youth have struggles with cussing, being hot tempered, not respecting leaders and taking a lot of chances because they don’t believe things will ever happen to them. Rebellion and stubbornness are serious sins against God. They involve far more than being independent and strong-minded. Scripture equates them with witchcraft and idolatry, sins worthy of death. We will discuss how Saul became both rebellious and stubborn and what happen to him and ways to prevent it from happening to the youth.
What is Real Love? Sometimes we confuse love and lust. Let’s find out what the difference is. Unlike lust God’s kind of love is directed outward towards others, not inward toward ourselves. God’s love is utterly unselfish. This kind of love goes against our natural inclinations. It is impossible to have this love unless God helps us set aside our own natural desires so that we can love and not expect anything in return. The more we become like Christ, the more love we will show to others.
Take off your Mask
Often times are youth as well as adults walk around with a mask on their face, as if everything is well. On the outside they may appear fine, but on the inside they are falling apart. Many of our youth deal with self-esteem issues and get little support from society and family with their cynical comments
